What does Sukhothai mean?

Sukhothai is “dawn of happiness” in Sanskrit. It is also the name of the first capital of Thailand during a thriving era in the Thai history.
Now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Sukhothai has long been considered as a cradle of the country’s unique culture and identity, gracing the name itself such rich and deep meanings, suggesting integrity, authenticity, gracious spirit, serenity, the pursuit of happiness, and embracing contentment as a way of life – all these values set the foundation of our service philosophy.

What is the meaning behind your logo?

The Sukhothai logo is made up of 22 diamonds in the distinctive marquise cut, fittingly arranged in the shape of a Chedi. They represent the 22 brand-defining touchpoints designed to create a holistic, exceptional guest experience.

The Group has diversified interests in real estate development and investment (with assets in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Japan), property management, luxury hotels and serviced apartments, healthcare services and other investments in Hong Kong, Mainland China and across Asia.

All current hospitality properties (a portfolio that includes The Sukhothai Shanghai, The Sukhothai Bangkok, Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong and Discovery Bay Golf Club) are joint ventures or wholly-owned.
