Hope you avoided over indulging on New Year’s Eve! The secret to get you over a hangover is drinking plenty of water, juices and chilled smoothies or a big steamy hot beef Pho!

Once you get over New Year fever I have some great news for you. From 4-6 February we will have a very interesting food promotion from Singapore, namely the famous Les Amis restaurant. It was established in 1995, this award-winning restaurant is no doubt the best French restaurant in Singapore. Les Amis stocks about 2,000 different wines from around the world...their wine cellar is extremely impressive. Definitely worth a look!
Les Amis’s residence Chef is Austrian-born Armin Leitgeb, who built his career working in Michelin-star restaurants such as Tantris in Munich, Jardin des Sens in France and French Laundry in California. Chef Armin’s cuisine is modern French with splashes of distinct flavors. I like his traditional background as much as his more contemporary training. Actually I did have the privilege to work with Chef Armin in his own kitchen nine months ago in Singapore. Detail is the key for Chef Armin, from cooking techniques to the execution. Chef Armin is a fully loaded line cook, who has a great "moves", nice techniques and, most important speed in the kitchen. To watch him work his magic is a real treat.
Signature dishes such as "Grilled Maguro Chutoro with Confit of Meyer Lemon", "Homemade Lobster Pasta with Perigord Truffle" and "Kuroge Wagyu with Truffled French fries" are just to mention a few dishes which will be featured during the three day promotion at La Scala restaurant.
So whatever plans you may have for the future, I very much look forward to welcoming you back to The Sukhothai for another amazing culinary experience with rare and exceptional vintage wines.
I’ll be back shortly with more good news…
Thank you.
