The Sukhothai Bangkok welcomes a new Italian Chef, Antonio Michele Totaro to its iconic Italian restaurant La Scala. Recently voted as one of the top 10 restaurants in Bangkok, Top Table 2014 by BK Magazine, La Scala continues serving delectable Italian cuisine under the supervision of Chef Antonio, providing an authentic Italian experience to discerning diners.
Born and raised in Monte Sant'Angelo in southern Italy, Chef Antonio was inspired by Mediterranean cuisine that specialized in using extra virgin olive oil as a base to bring out the true taste of vegetables and seafood, its two main ingredients.
With over ten years of experience, Chef Antonio has worked in numerous renowned restaurants across Italy and Asia, including legendary 2 Michelin Stars Don Alfonso in Italy. He was also Italian Chef for the opening of Don Alfonso at the Grand Lisboa Hotel in Macau, the first Don Alfonso restaurant outside Italy.
Previously managing well-known Spasso restaurant as an Executive Chef in Hong Kong, Chef Antonio has taken this precious opportunity to come to The Sukhothai Bangkok as he always dreams of letting his talent lead him to work and travel around the world.
“I want guests to feel they are sitting in a fine dining restaurant in Italy. I would like to encourage them to try new ideas here. I believe this is definitely the right direction to go for La Scala as well” Chef Antonio said.
